212 W. Main Street, Inverness
Event will span the Inverness Government Center complex, Tompkins Street and Pine Avenue in 2019.
This is a one-day music, beverage and art festival that is also a qualifier for the World Food Championship (WFC)--the largest food competition in the world. This event invites top chefs and food trucks to compete in nine categories: Sandwich, Burger, Bacon, Chicken, Steak, Dessert and Chef. The chef with the highest score in the Bacon category will move onto the WFC in Dallas to compete for top honors.
It's worth mentioning that 2018 Golden Ticket Winner James Cook of Cattledog Coffee Roasters placed fourth worldwide in the WFC in November 2018.
How it Works
It's simple, visit the food truck or restaurant booth. Pick a "taste" for a small serving if you want to try a variety. Their menus will also offer larger portions if you are looking to chow down. Our vendors take cash or cards.
Food Purchase Options
- “The Taste” small serving for $5 or less at each food vendor
- Regular serving prices will vary by food vendor
There will be 20-25 top regional chefs serving food and competing for top nods.
The Taste is an annual foodie event that supports the Citrus County Educations Foundation (CCEF).
CCEF provides resources to support Citrus County Schools to enhance the quality of education for present and future generations.
CCEF recently opened Supplies 4 Success, a free teacher supply store for Citrus County teachers! A portion of admission and beer tasting tickets will go to support programs like this that support local students and teacher. Donations welcome at the event too!
